Brown-eyed girl

My name is Jessie, but my foster mom calls me "sweetheart", "darling", and "honey". Smart girl that I am, I come to all of it. After all, she is talking to ME. I love my people and if you call to me from even the farthest spot at the park, even if I am hot on the trail of a nasty squirrel, I will come running1 Because if the ones I love want me, I am THERE!

I want to be yours furever!

You may look at me and wonder what kind of GSP I am. My foster mom thinks I am part smooth collie. She thinks that because my fur is really soft and not as short as her GSP puppy. Also, she thinks my eyes are clever and alert like a collie. Don't tell her, but most dogs are more clever than her puppy. I am smart an adaptable. Having never been around other dogs, this whole part of a pack thing, took some getting used to. Did you know that in this house the other dogs take my toys and expect me to tug of war to get it back? I am learning though-mostly I just give them the toy and run and get another one for myself.

A day in the life...

Most days you will find me hanging out on my dog bed or the chair and a half that I share with my poodle foster brother. The minute I hear the postman or the ups man or MOM's car- I am on it! To the window! It is my job to watch the house, and I am good at it. Now when my family has guests, I am learning to sit when they come in. It sure is hard though. I have a hard time not barking my greeting at everyone. Mom keeps telling me that I am a clever girl and a quick learner, so I am not too worried. You can leave me all day, if you need to. After all, someone has to bring home the bacon, so to speak. I will be waiting. I love my family!

Jessie-the nuts and bolts, as it were

Alot of people when they are looking for a dog, have a bunch of requirements. Well, any other lady you know, I have my opinions, too! Being an adult dog, I don't mind other dogs. But I think they should be well-mannered like me. I have met alot of kids since I have been in Illinois and staying with my foster family. Kids are fine, but I don't play rough and won't like kids pulling my tail or ears-that hurts! Cats are fine, but I need to get to know them. The cats at the vet seemed fine, and I sniffed them and left them alone. Besides walks and dinnertime, I would have to say my favorite thing is tennis balls! I absolutely love balls. I will fetch over and over. I love toys and will soon make those fluffy toy animals into nice flat pelts. I do like to sleep in bed, but you can tell me which bed is mine for the night, and I will head right there. I do need a fenced yard. It keeps me safe, and keeps you safe from squirrels. I will chase them all out of your yard, I promise.

A little more information please.

I really hope that you are seeing what a well-mannered dog I am. I can be trusted in the house completely-my foster mom is astounded that I don't disturb things left on counters or in open trash. I just adore my walks on leash. If you are willing to walk me, I will walk politely just a bit ahead of you (I am part gsp after all!). I had never experienced feeding time at the zoo before (my pet name for this multi-dog home I am in now), but I understand how my foster mom does it, and we get along just great. So, show me my bowl and where to wait for food-no problem. I have an amazing ability to learn. My foster mom can't believe how clever I am. I sit for treats, go to "my" bed on command, know everyone's name. This means that mom says go to Annabel' room, her human daughter, and I trot in there and hop onto her bed for the night. Pretty cool, huh?

Hey there!

I am a little lady from the north, Wisconsin, that is. Now I am living in Illinois with my foster family. I was an only dog-now I have a foster brother and foster sister. I know I should be kind, being a nice adult dog, but they are a little intense. Especially the puppy. I have never been around puppies before. Well, maybe when I was one, but that was 4 or 5 years ago! So, the puppy Ceres barks at me to play and I will indulge her for a bit. I am more than happy kick back on my own though.
